Sculpture
The saying ,“One person’s trash is another person’s treasure”, conveys the spirit in my approach to creating sculptures. Found objects and industrial materials are repurposed and transformed into new concepts. The sun-dial was created from materials found from the site of a torn down school and the retro TV is all salvaged electrical parts within an old RCA Monitor.
After earning my undergraduate degree, I worked in the office of Venturi & Scott Brown, where I, along with several other artists, designed and constructed the “Treehouse”, and other “larger than life” exhibits that showcase the world scaled up to the animal’s perspective. I solely designed the Beaver Dam, Monarch Caterpillar & Chrysalis & several small dioramas throughout the exhibit.
I also created backdrops and animated sequences in the 1988 Peewee Herman Christmas Special.
